Notes/Analysis:
FINAL: 10–2 NYY
WP: Fried (9–1) 1.84
LP: Cameron (2–2) 2.17
Record: 40–25
Max Fried’s Final Line:
7.0 IP | 6H | 3R | 3ER | 4K | 0BB | 91P | 1.84 ERA
Max Fried looked like himself and pitched fantastic as he does 9/10 times. He gave up only two runs, an RBI groundout to Caglianone after some bad-luck in the feild and a solo homer to India.
Aaron Judge got the night started with a two-run homer that I don’t think landed yet. He is just unbelievable. 2–0 NYY
Austin Wells, batting ninth, came up huge with two on and two outs in the fourth inning and worked a nine-pitch at-bat, sending one into the Royals bullpen to make it 5–1 NYY.
Austin Wells would come up in the sixth inning, in the same situation, and this time have a 10-pitch at-bat, lining a two-run double down the left field line, making it 7–1 NYY.
After the two-run double by Wells, four straight singles by Goldschmidt, Grisham, Judge and Bellinger make it 10–1 NY
Jasson Dominguez was 3–4, all three hits from the right side. The fourth, was snared at first on a really nice play by Caglianone.
DJ LeMahieu had a great night, getting some important hits and a pivotal walk. DJ also laid out to make a spectacular catch (shown below), in a 10–2, which I love to see.
De Los Santos worked around some trouble in the eighth inning, but he got out of it. De Los Santos also got into trouble in the ninth, so the Yankees went to Tim Hill to get the final out.
