THE BRONX, NY — Instant Reaction to the Yankees 4-1 season-ending loss to the Blue Jays.
Cam Schlittler allowed three hits in the first inning, including an RBI double to Yankee killer Vladimir Guerrero Jr., giving the Jays an early 1-0 lead. Bellinger saved the day, making an outstanding catch on this ball on the left field line.
Belli keeps it a one run game with this sliding catch!

After Cam Schlittler worked scoreless second and third innings, Ryan McMahon stepped up and worked an 0-2 count to a full count and powered a solo home run into the right field stands, tying the game at 1.

The Blue Jays would retake the lead on back-to-back hits to lead off the fifth inning, but a sac fly is all the Jays would muster, after Schlittler got Vladdy looking to end the inning.
The Yankees had a chance to tie this game in the sixth inning after an intentional walk to Judge and a two-out walk to Stanton, but Jazz grounds out to end the inning. A lot of empty Yankee at-bats in this game.
I'm getting a bit sick of Jazz

Jazz costs the Yankees again, booting what would have been an inning-ending double play, which turned into two more Toronto runs, and sealed the fate of the Yankees.

Cam Schlittler delivered for the Yankees tonight in a big way, putting up the best starting pitching performance of any Yankees starter this series. He gave up just two earned runs in two starts this postseason.

A few things about the seventh inning:
Goldschmidt lead off with a single
Wells made good contact, it was an out.
The Yankees foolishly left Anthony Volpe in to hit with a runner on first and one out, and for the third time in this game, he struck out and heard a lot of boos.
Ryan McMahon, who hit a home run to drive in the loan Yankees run in this game, was pinch-hit for by Amed Rosario. The move worked as Rosario lined a single into center giving Grisham a shot with two outs.
Trent Grisham had an opportunity to tie the game, but he popped out into foul territory to end the inning.
Comilo Doval would come in for the eighth inning and only got one out and surrendered a run. David Bednar came in and delivered once again for the Yankees.
The Yankees loaded the bases in the bottom of the eighth inning with two outs for Austin Wells, but Wells flew out on the first pitch he saw to end the inning.

David Bednar pitched a scoreless ninth inning after a leadoff double.
Jasson Dominguez pinch-hit for Volpe in the ninth inning and hit a leadoff double in his first at-bat since September 21st. A good approach, going to right-center. Judge would single him home in his final at-bat of the season.
Judge RBI single
