NEW YORK — 6:00 pm has passed and it’s pencils down for Brian Cashman and his team. Let’s take a look at what the Yankees did to improve the 2025 team before or at the Trade Deadline.

Ryan McMahon

The first move the Yankees made came last Friday, where the Yankees acquired Rockies third baseman Ryan McMahon. McMahon has been known as a glove-first fielder, something the Yankees have not had in a very long time. McMahon has made some really sparking impact plays in the feild.

McMahon has also been solid with his bat so far in his Yankee career, including deliviering his first walk-off hit as a Yankee.

More on McMahon:

Amed Rosario

The Yankees took step 1 of bolstering their bench by picking up masher of lefties, Amed Rosario. Rosario is batting .288 against left handers this season. Rosario could be used as a platoon bat for McMahon at third base, because of the splits McMahon has against lefties (not great).

More on Rosario:

Austin Slater

The Yankees acquire Austin Slater — another masher of lefties — that can play backup outfield. That was the warning sign that another outfielder could be dealt by the end of the trade deadline. Slater can play corner outfield and hits lefties very well.

More on Slater:

David Bednar

The Yankees acquired two-time all star closer David Bednar from the Pirates. Bednar has 102 saves in his career and is really good against both lefties and righties. This is a really good move for the Yankees to bolster the backend of that bullpen.

More on Bednar:

Jake Bird

The Yankees also acquired reliever Jake Bird from the Rockies. Bird has some swing and miss stuff and the Yankees believe he can be a good setup man. Bird comes to the Yankees controlled through 2028.

TRADED OSWALD PERAZA

For the first time in nine years, the Yankees organization is without

Jose Caballero

At one point today, Caballero was playing second base at Yankee stadium — for the Rays — during their matchup today and got to have a really nice and true #HugWatch.

Caballero is a utility player who brings speed and outstanding defense at multiple positions to the Bronx. The Yankees completely revamped their entire bench.

More on Caballero:

Camilo Doval

The Yankees continued their quest to make a super-bullpen and did just that. Comilo Doval, the closer from the Giants heads to the Bronx. Doval will likely slot in as a setup man, but the Yankees now have four relievers that are capable of closing out games.

More on Doval:

“We’ve addressed a lot of areas of need to try to give us the best shot we can take” Brian Cashman said to the media. While the Yankees were unable to come away with a starter, the additions they made to the bullpen, and the return of Luis Gil to the rotation almost makes up for it. I think it is safe to say that Brian Cashman and his team were able to “go to town” at this deadline.
