NEW YORK — The Yankees made a really solid move on Saturday evening adding utility player Amed Rosario from the Nationals for RHP Clayton Beeter and RHP Browm Martinez.
Rosario, known for his defensive versatility and contact hitting, provides the Yankees with much-needed depth across the infield and outfield. This move signals the organization’s continued effort to bolster its roster ahead of the stretch run, while parting with two promising arms in Beeter and Martinez to address more immediate needs.
Rosario is mashing left-handed pitching this season for the Nationals, slashing .299/.333/.483 with a .816 OPS. I love the versatility that the Yankees now have off their bench because Rosario and McMahon will likely platoon giving the vastly different results against left-handed pitching, which will open one of them up for a pinch-hitting opportunity each game if the situation comes up.
And, as Yankee fans know, Rosario has some clutch in him:
More to come.
