TORONTO — Will Warren did not have his stuff today to say the least. Warren surrendered seven runs in the first inning, five of those runs before recording an out. Warren was able to give the Yankees four innings, only giving up one more run, but the damage was done in the first inning.

The Yankees showed a lot of fight and came back to tie this game up. It started in the fifth inning where the Yankees scored six runs, capped off by a three-run home run off the bat of Giancarlo Stanton, his first of the season. The Yankees would tie the game in the eighth inning on a two-run home run by Aaron Judge.

This might have been the biggest home run of the year for the Yankees. But then Devin Williams came in. Williams began his outing with a strikeout, then back-to-back walks, a deep flyout that the runner tagged up on, moving the runners into scoring position. Then, the go-ahead run would score on a wild pitch, then another would score on an RBI single. That would put the nail in the coffin of the Yankees night. Just a totally devastating loss on all fronts for the Yankees.

The Yankees will try to salvage the series tomorrow with Clarke Schmidt on the mound. The Yankees have lost their lead in the AL East, and need a win tomorrow to move back into sole possession of first place.
