NEW YORK — The first half of the 2025 season has officially concluded and the most of Yankees are enjoying the week off for the All Star break — Judge, Jazz, Rodon, Fried and the coaching staff are in Atlanta for the All Star Game — but it is important to look ahead at the second half.
Entering the break, the Yankees sit in second place in the AL East, 2 games behind the Toronto Blue Jays. While the first half for the Yankees put them in a good position to win the AL East and return to the postseason, there still is work to be done, but the Yankees have some things going in their favor.
MLB Remaining Strength of Schedule

The Yankees have the 10th easiest schedule the rest of the way, featuring the following matchups that the Yankees should take advantage of:
Three games against the Braves (in Atlanta)
Six games against the Twins (three in New York, three in Minnesota)
Seven games against the White Sox (four in Chicago, three in New York)
Three games against the Marlins (in Miami)
Three games against the Nationals (in New York)
Seven games against the Orioles (four in Baltimore, three in New York)
Three against the Rangers (in Texas)
That is 32 of the remaining 66 games — almost half of the schedule — against teams that are at or under .500 at the all star break. If the Yankees take care of business against those teams, and continue to handle the teams that are above .500, like the Astros, Phillies, Rays and Tigers (among others) that they face in the second half, the Yankees will be in good position to win the AL East.
The Yankees are also aiming to add at the 2025 trade deadline that should only help the Yankees case to win a lot of games in the second half.
