ATLANTA — Man, was that an all-star game. The NL had the lead till the very end, when the AL rallied back to tie the game. First of all, for the AL to even rally back to tie the NL who lead before an out was recorded is awesome, because everything in the game itself was truly even. We got to see a nice comeback, small ball style (which Manfred i’m sure liked).

After Aroldis Chapman pitched a clean ninth inning, the All-Star game went to a Home run Derby swing off style to determine a winner.

Brent Rooker started off going 2/3 for the AL before the rest of the AL hit just one home run combined — by Arozarena.

Then, Kyle Schwarber came up for the National League and took three swings, and all three of them left the park, eventually winning the game for the NL.

Schwarber got the opportunity — and took it — to do one of the coolest things in Baseball history. The home run derby style was so fun to watch for the fans, and seeing one of the best sluggers — especially one who is scheduled to hit free agency this winter — win the game for his league, and subsequently the MVP is such a cool thing for the sport as a whole.

ABS In Action:

I wanted to also add my brief thoughts about the ABS system implemented in the game. It was awesome. I really like this system because it keeps the human element in the game while still allowing players to challenge in big spots for the opportunity to get the calls correctly.
