EAST RUTHERFORD, NJ — Reactions to the New York Giants Week Three 22-9 loss to the Chiefs, falling to 0-3 on the season.
Shortly before kickoff, K Graham Gano (groin) was announced as “questionable” for the game. The Giants don’t have another kicker on the active roster.
On their opening drive, the Giants get stopped on fourth down after going for it on 4th and 3 since they don’t have a kicker due to injury. The play calling on that drive was not great, like the decision to run on 3 and 7 the play prior.
The Giants defense continues to struggle on second down, and it showed in the Chiefs opening drive. Dru Phillips had some nice defense on Mahomes in the opening drive, that helped keep the Chiefs to only a field goal.
Dru Phillips PBU! 💪

The Giants came up empty on their offensive drive of the game, and they were forced to punt after an injury to Tyrone Tracy took him out of the game and the refs missed a clear facemask on Cam Skattebo that would have given the Giants a first down, but instead, they were forced to punt.
The Giants were unable to get a big stop on the second Chiefs drive of the game, and frankly looked overmatched by the Chiefs offense. A big illegal formation call went against the Chiefs, halting some momentum and keeping Kansas City to another Field Goal the Giants were down 6-0.
The Giants did nothing on their third drive, with Wilson throwing a pick six and putting Kansas City in perfect field position to put some separation between themselves and the Giants. It was Wilson’s second interception in as many weeks and his age was showing in the first few drives.
The Giants defense was able to keep the Chiefs scoreless on this drive, after a missed field goal attempt.
The Giants were able to score the first touchdown of the game, with a rush by Skattebo after a nice drive downfield and a 13-yard rush into the endzone.
TOUCHDOWN GIANTS!! Cam Skattebo with a 13-yard run for the first Giants Home TD of the season!
The kick however is blocked, so the game is tied.
🏈: 6-6

The Giants defense was able to get a three-and-out and get their offense back on the field.
The Giants offense was in excellent position to strike and take the lead prior to the half, but Wilson was trying to find Nabers in the end zone, but was picked off for the second time today instead.
Russell Wilson tried finding Malik Nabers who hasn’t caught a ball yet and instead it’s his second INT of the night

Mike Tirico and Cris Collinsworth were annoying all night. I have a good idea for a drinking game, every time the broadcast says “bazaro” or says something positive about something bad the Chiefs do, take a shot.
The Chiefs came away with a field goal on their next drive after some costly penalties on the Giants that could have resulted in a stop.
Patrick Mahomes gave his guy a chance.
Chiefs get a FG before halftime.

Kansas City got the ball on the opening drive of the second half and drove the ball downfield for a touchdown to put them up 10 points. The Giants were not able to make some tackles early in the drive which resulted in the Chiefs getting downfield.
TIGHT WINDOW TYQUAN 🙌

The Giants were not able to do anything on offense next time out, though the did bring in Jackson Dart to make his home debut.
The Giants were able to keep the Chiefs off the board in their next drive, forcing them to punt.
The Giants were able to drive downfield, thanks in part to Skataboo who has been phenomenal so far, but Wilson was not able to get into the end zone for the touchdown and the Giants called on an injured Graham Gano, and he was able to get a 25-yard field goal off, putting the Giants by one score.
Graham Gano just made a kick while fighting a groin injury

The Giants wew not able to get a stop. Mahomes was throwing dimes in the second half, but Tyquan Thornton made an unbelievable catch after narrowly missing one just like it on the previous throw, resulting in a Kansas City touchdown, but after a personal misconduct call, the extra point was missed.
Tyquan Thornton reels it in!

The Giants then had a chance to make this a game, getting into the red zone, but were not able to score any points, as Wilson kept throwing the ball out of bounds, including getting an intentional grounding call.
The Giants were able to get a stop prior to the two minute warning.
The final play of the game: A sack of Russell Wilson on 4th down.
Malik Nabers tonight:

- 13 Yards
