Leading up to the Giants’ Week two matchup at the Dallas Cowboys, Head Coach Brian Daboll provided some notable injury and roster updates.

LT Andrew Thomas

After missing early practice sessions due to a Lisfranc foot injury sustained in 2024, he returned to practice and was doing team reps as of Thursday. While his status is improving, there’s still uncertainty about whether he’ll play against Dallas, as he needs consecutive good practice days to be cleared.

ER Malik Nabers and WR Wan’Dale Robinson

Both receivers have shown improvement. Malik Nabers, who had been limited due to a back issue, has ramped up and was expected to participate fully later in the week. Wan’Dale Robinson (ankle) was back in limited practice after missing earlier sessions.

QB Jackson Dart

Dart will be mixed in with the starting unit and could see some playing time on Sunday. Russel Wilson remains as the starter for Sunday

LB Micah McFadden

McFadden is out. He was placed on injured reserve with a foot injury suffered in Week 1. The team reports that the injury is not season-ending.

WR Xavier Gipson

The Giants claimed WR Xavier Gipson off waivers from the Jets on Thursday. Gipson, 24, a young and versatile player, adds depth to the Giants’ receiving corps and could provide immediate help in the return game as well. After going undrafted in 2023, he signed with the Jets and quickly made an impression as a dynamic special teams contributor, most notably returning a punt for a touchdown in his NFL debut. By bringing him in, the Giants are looking to strengthen competition among their wideouts while adding a spark to their special teams unit. Gipson’s speed and agility make him an intriguing option for offensive packages that require quickness in space, and his familiarity with the New York market should ease the transition across town. This acquisition also signals that the Giants remain active in evaluating talent, aiming to maximize depth and versatility as they prepare for the upcoming stretch of the season.

Other Injury Notes

  • Darius Slayton (groin) was limited in practice.

  • Rakeem Nunez-Roches (foot) also saw limited participation.

  • Demetrius Flannigan-Fowles (calf) was limited or did not practice.
