In the nine-run third inning, Anthony Volpe made two of the three outs in the inning, one liner to second and a strikeout with the bases loaded to end the inning. The Yankees might need to give him more of an extended break.

Max Fried’s Final Line: 7.0 IP | 4 H | 1 R/ER | 6 K | 2 BB | 94-61 P/S | 3.06 ERA
Max Fried had another really good outing today, his second in a row, taking a no-hitter into the sixth inning. Sometimes when it’s an offensive laugher the quality of pitching can get lost, but Fried’s outing was really dominant and encouraging for the future, with a few playoff teams on the horizon.
Anthony Volpe was 0-5 today and was the only Yankee to not reach base in the game. He is now in the midst of 1 for 37 slide, with 14 strikeouts in 11 games.
