THE BRONX, NY — Instant Reaction to the Yankees 5-3 win over the White Sox, improving to 91-68 on the year.
Carlos Rodon got the night started by working a 15-pitch scoreless first inning around a two-out single.
The Yankees offense loaded the bases with no outs after a Grisham single, a Judge double, and a Bellinger walk. Rice would ground out to the pitcher, scoring a run, Stanton would strike out and Jazz would ground out. At least they were able to get a run out of bases loaded no outs today?
Rodon would get into trouble in the second inning after a single, a hit by pitch, flowed by a sac bunt and a sac fly to tie the game at one in the second inning.
After two singles and an intentional walk to Judge, his MLB-Record 35th intentional walk, Cody Bellinger worked the count to 3-2, then grounds out weakly to leave the bases loaded.
Carlos Rodon worked a 1-2-3 third inning against the top of the lineup.
After a one out walk, Rodon surrendered a two-out two-run home run to the light hitting Michael A. Taylor, giving the White Sox a 3-1 lead.
In the fifth inning, the Yankees would load the bases with one out, and they did not leave them loaded this time, with Giancarlo Stanton hitting a bases-clearing double down the line to give the Yankees a 4-3 lead.

Rodon worked a lockdown sixth inning, thanks in part to this baserunning play by the White Sox.

The Yankees loaded the bases, yet again, in the sixth inning, and left the bases loaded after Rice flew out. It was the third time the Yankees had left the bases loaded today.

Luke Weaver pitched a 1-2-3 seventh inning for the Yankees, and looked good doing so with his changeup command being sharp tonight, he was able to breeze through the bottom of the order.
Following a Stanton walk, the Yankees pinch-ran putting Dominguez in who was able to score after a groundout advanced the runner and Wells hit an RBI double off the wall. The Yankees would leave two more runners on base in the inning.
A HUGE RBI Double by Wells gives the #Yankees a 5-3 lead!

Devin Williams pitched a scorless eighth inning, though he got into some two-out trouble after a walk and a single, but have no fear, Cody Bellinger is here in Left to rob what could have been a two-run double, and instead is the third out.
