Takeaways
The Offense
The Yankee offense only produced four hits, but that’s all they needed to win tonight as the pitching staff was able to carry them. Another little nugget was after Judge was intentionally walked in the third inning, Bellinger made them pay with an RBI single. Bellinger is now 6–15 after Judge is intentionally walked this season. MAKE THEM PAY!!
Starting Pitching Analysis
Will Warren struggled in the first inning, walking three batters, but he locked in after that. Throwing 37 pitches in the first inning costed him innings on the backend. His development has been great to see this season.
Bullpen Usage
The Yankees bullpen was LIGHTS OUT today, allowing just two baserunners (lead off the sixth with a single (that should have been a groundout) and an E5. Hill got a double play and a strikeout to end the inning. Cruz, Weaver and Williams each worked 1–2–3 innings.
