Takeaways
The Offense/Defense
The Yankees offense started off really slow, but the 35 min. rain delay threw off Logan Gilbert and he proceeded to give up five runs, including a huge three-run home run from Stanton, his second of the season. Wells and Judge also hit home runs, as well as a two-run single by Goldschmidt.
The defense was awesome today. It’s truly amazing what happens when you place players in their correct defensive position.
Nice plays by the #Yankees infielders, as Tim Hill wrks a 1-2-3 inning.

Starting Pitching Analysis
Will Warren had all his stuff today and gave the Yankees 2 2/3 big innings of work. It was important for Warren to give the Yankees some innings, given the current state of their bullpen, and he was able to do just that.
Bullpen Usage
Tim Hill was the first out of the bullpen and did his job, getting all four outs he needed. The Yankees went on to break the game open, so they went to Geoff Hartlieb, who was only able to get one out, while giving up three runs. Ian Hamilton was able to get a double play to end the inning and Effross came in for the ninth and finished the job. Effross has looked impressive so far.
