THE BRONX, NY — History was made in the Bronx last night a rookie Cam Schlittler did something no other starting pitcher in MLB history did in a postseason game.
The native of Walpole, Massachusetts took the mound at 8:08pm to face the team that he grew up rooting for as a kid and proceeded to do something that nobody, not even his biggest fans and believers thought he would do, and make MLB history and pitch eighth inning of scoreless baseball, striking out twelve and not walking a batter.

"Personal for me to beat the Red Sox after hearing chirping from Boston fans.” Schlittler said postgame. "There was a line they crossed a little bit. I'm a competitor. I'm gonna go out there and make sure I shut them down."
One of the things I noted before the series was my concern for how Cam Schlittler would react making this kind of start, and Schlittler proved just how good he was, and his velocity was way up today, which improved his strikeout numbers, where he struck out half the batters he faced.
"We're aggressive back home. “ Schlittler added. “We're going to try to get under peoples' skin. They just picked the wrong guy to do it to — and the wrong team to do it to, as well."
Schlittler, who was rightfully amped up after the game, decided to do some trolling, which made Schlittler’s night even better that he could stick it to the doubters, and also give the Yankee fans who were pumped up after his outing.

“We needed to be perfect tonight because he was perfect.” Red Sox manager Alex Cora said after the game. "It's a special organization, a good team - wish them nothing but the best"
"I'm not gonna say what he hold me last night, but I'm not surprised at all by what he did." Manager Aaron Boone said after the game. about Schlittler’s performance
“You go into tonight’s game where it’s like Cam’s rolling,” Captain Aaron Judge said. “I know they got a string of lefties there that are pretty tough against him, but [Boone] played the hot hand. I think that’s what it comes down to in the postseason. The game’s gonna tell you what to do. Boonie did a great job, and we’ll keep that rolling in Toronto.”
Judge brings up an awsome point. Boone deserves a lot of credit. For the flack that Boone got after pulling Fried on Tuesday, resulting in a loss, Boone rode his horse eight innings, and it worked.
“There are different paths to greatness up here, but this guy has come up and delivered right away.” Yankees injured ace Gerrit Cole said. “He’s got it. I don’t know exactly what it is, it’s hard to define it. But he’s got it."
Schlitt happened.
